NICERGOLINE (Sermion) is a medication that is used to improve cerebral and peripheral blood circulation. It provides alpha-adrenoblocking action and stimulates metabolism. The action of Sermion reduces vascular resistance, increases arterial blood flow, improves oxygen and glucose consumprtion by brain tissue. Lowers pulmonary vascular resistance. Reduces platelet aggregation and improves hemorheological performance. Increases blood flow in the upper and lower extremities. In therapeutic doses Sermion does not affect blood pressure. In patients with hypertension, the drug can cause a gradual decrease of blood pressure. The active substance is Nicergoline - an ergot alkaloid derivative that acts as a potent and selective alpha-1A adrenergic receptor antagonist.
INDICATION FOR USE
Sermion comes in the form of the tablets for oral administration. Active substance: Nicergoline - 5,10,30mg. Dosage: 5-10mg 3 times/day between the meals.
